How do I care for my leather pieceI rub the back side of the leather with bees wax before I start. I use mink oil on my hands while I braid. This helps with my grip and conditions the leather as I work. When the leather gets dirty or has been used awhile: 1. Clean off dirt and debris with a damp cloth. 2. Allow the piece to dry completely before applying a leather conditioner. 3. Use a leather conditioner to keep the leather supple and to prevent cracking. I use mink oil. 4. Repeat the conditioning process every 6 months or as needed. Use an old tooth brush to get between the braiding to remove dirt or excess conditioner. 5. Store your leather piece in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

What type of leather do you use?I hand braid only kangaroo lace. Mostly 1/8" and some 1/32" if the piece calls for it. I braid 8 strand and 4 strand styles in the round. Kangaroo leather has 3x the tensile strength of calf or water buffalo leather and stays soft , supple and strong.

How long have you been braiding?I have braided for over 30 years. I am learning new techniques every day and I try to pace myself so my hands will last.

Do you have a guarantee and return policy? My leather items are guaranteed to be well made and last for years. If something is not to your liking I can work with you to alter or exchange the piece or return with a refund. I have strict quality control and do not allow seconds in anything I sell. I can work with you to find the right size or style and share pictures of similar items to help you choose before purchase. Colors may vary with leather lots, but I will match as closely as possible. All leather will patina which gives each piece a special look. If chewed or damaged by animals , children or slammed in car doors etc. I can repair some pieces or turn into keepsakes for a fee. Duck call loop knots are guaranteed to be tight. If they loosen in later years I can re-braid tighter knots for a fee.
